Becoming a successful, profitable trader might seem to be difficult to master and, at the same time, it is potentially the most profitable set of business and life skills that you can develop for yourself as an individual.

Achieving mastery in trading brings rich rewards, yet it is not really a goal or a destination but rather a process or journey. Because we call this journey “mastery,” we tend to assume that it requires a special ticket available only to those born with exceptional abilities.

But mastery is not reserved for the super talented or even for those who are fortunate enough to have gotten an early start. It's available to anyone who is willing to get on the path and stay on it, regardless of age, sex or experience.

The Secret is: "ALL Babies are Successful."

All babies are masters; we're designed that way. All babies instinctively understand the process, the journey toward mastery.

As a baby, all that's required is taking the first step. Let me explain this simple truth of mastery. When you were a tiny child, you made your way around your world crawling on your hands and knees.

Then one day you noticed everyone else around you were moving faster, upright on two legs. "Pretty cool,” you thought. And once you had that thought, you had to give it a try. Your mind freed of doubt and clutter, there was no way you weren't going to master this skill of walking.

So you set out step by step (literally) developing the skills you needed to walk. Wobbly and unsure, you found something to pull yourself upright. Then, without thinking, you let go. Crash was the result. You fell down.

Then, either right away, or the next day (it doesn't matter) you tried again. And then you tried again and again until eventually you stood up all by yourself. Look Ma No Hands!

Then eventually you take your first sequence of two steps, then three, and four, and then all by yourself you're walking to the cheers and applause of your proud family.

Here's the secret. It was in that FIRST STEP that you positioned yourself on the path of mastery even if external appearances didn't entirely confirm your new status as the "Master of Walking."

Beginning the path of learning to trade, like the baby, you will spend more time falling down than standing. This is the secret to successful trading. Constantly falling or having to take a step back is uncomfortable, and sometimes it hurts.

That is why I tell all my new students, "Your first goal is NOT to make money. Your first goal is to not lose money. If you master this, the money will follow with my system."

The secret to the Mastery of Trading is baby steps, one at a time, and you are successfully trading. Success in trading is not a random accident.
