Identify Your Problem
Troubleshooting Website Videos
If you have problems viewing the videos on the ETF Trend Trading website, make sure you have done the following:
- Make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player, older versions of the Flash Player may not play the videos correctly. You may download the Adobe Flash player here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Important Note: Currently Adobe Flash Player does NOT work in 64-bit web browsers, if you are using a 64-bit browser, you will need to switch to a 32-bit browser until Adobe releases an update to the Adobe Flash Player. The Adobe Flash Player WILL work on 64-bit operating system, you simply need to ensure that you are using a 32-bit web browser. - Make sure your Flash Player settings are correct. To do this first go here:

you should see a small box with your flash player's settings displayed in it. Make sure both the "Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer", and the "Store common Flash components to reduce download times" check boxes ARE checked.

In the box on this page make sure the Global Security setting is set to "Always Ask".
- If you choose to use Internet Explorer as your web browser make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest version, which is currently version 8. To find out which version of Internet Explorer you have simply open Internet Explorer and look for the menu option at the very top of the browser that says Help, if you do not see a menu at the top of your browser press the ALT key on your keyboard, one should appear. After clicking on the help menu select the "About Internet Explorer" option in the menu that appears. This should open a dialog box that will tell you what version of Internet Explorer you are running. If you discover you are using an older version of Internet Explorer you may upgrade to the latest version of IE, either by running Windows Update of by manually installing IE8 here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx
Please note that Internet Explorer is NOT required to view the content and videos on our site you may use any other browser of your choice such as Firefox, Safari, Opera, Google Chrome, etc...
- If you use Internet Explorer as your web browser make sure your browser's security settings are set to allow activeX content. To do this open Internet Explorer and click the "Tools" menu option, then from the drop down menu that appears select "Internet Options". A dialog box will open up, in this dialog box click the tab at the top labeled "Security". At the top of this page you will see four Icons representing different security zones, make sure the Internet icon (Globe) is selected. With this zone selected make sure the security-level slider just below the four icons is set to "Medium-High". Next click on the tab labeled "Privacy" at the top of the dialog box. Make sure the slider on this page is set to "Medium".
- Make sure your system is up to date, by running Windows Update.

Flash Video Difficulties
If you experience issues installing or using the latest version of Adobe Flash player on this site, it is most likely a faulty Flash player installation.
Remove the Faulty Flash Player
For Windows users, try the following to remove the faulty player and install the latest version:
- Download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller:
Windows: uninstall_flash_player.exe (181 KB) (updated 04/08/08) Note: If you have a Windows Flash Player uninstaller downloaded prior to April 4, 2008 on your desktop, then please delete it and download the latest version.
- Save the file to your system, choosing a location where you can find it (for example, your desktop).
- Quit all running applications, including all Internet Explorer or other browser windows, AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, or other Messengers. Check the Windows system tray carefully to make certain no applications are still running which might possibly use Flash Player.
- Click Start > Run.
- Type cmd in the Open field.
- Click OK.
- In the command window, navigate to the folder the uninstall_flash_player.exe file was saved to (if it was saved to your desktop, this is done by typing cd desktop and then pressing enter) and then type:
uninstall_flash_player.exe /clean
- Press Enter.
- Restart your computer.
- Reinstall the Flash Player Plugin from Adobe.
- Make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player, older versions of the Flash Player may not play the videos correctly. You may download the Adobe Flash player here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

- If you are using a Mac, it is strongly recommended that you do NOT use the Mac version of Internet Explorer, this browser is extremely buggy, out of date, and is no longer supported by Microsoft.
- Mac users make sure you have downloaded and installed the Windows Media Components for QuickTime, by Flip4Mac. This is available as a free download from Microsoft's website here:

Flash Video Difficulties

Troubleshooting DVDs
If you are running any of the following Operating Systems on your computer, you will need to download and install either a DVD Decoder or VLC Media player:
- Windows 7 Starter
- Windows 7 Home Basic
- Windows Vista Starter
- Windows Vista Home Basic
- Windows Vista Business
- Windows Vista Enterprise
- Windows XP (All Versions)
If you are running Windows XP you can determine whether or not you already have a DVD Decoder installed by using the Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility here:

If you do not have a DVD Decoder or you are using one of the Operating Systems listed above you can purchase and download a DVD Decoder here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/plugins.aspx
or as a free alternative you may download and install the VLC Media Player here: http://www.videolan.org/
Additionally you should be aware that our DVDs are in NTSC format. If you plan to watch our DVDs on your TV you will need to have a DVD player that is capable of reading DVDs in NTSC format. Many older DVD Players sold in parts of the world where PAL, and SECAM are the broadcast standard used, may not be able to play the DVDs correctly.

Troubleshooting CD Videos
If you are having difficulty viewing the videos on our CDs try the following:
- Make sure you have the latest version of the QuickTime media player installed, older versions may not play the videos correctly. You may download QuickTime here: http://www.apple.com/quicktime
- Windows PC users make sure you have downloaded and installed the Combined Community Codec Pack here: http://www.cccp-project.net/ . Make sure you click on the yellow download button entitled "Download CCCP".
- If the above solutions did not help you may want to try playing the videos with the VLC Media Player, it is available as a download for both Mac and PC users here: http://www.videolan.org
- Make sure you have the latest version of the QuickTime media player installed, older versions may not play the videos correctly. You may download QuickTime here: http://www.apple.com/quicktime
- In the latest versions of the Mac OS, the Auto Run features of our CDs are disabled and therefore will not play automatically after inserting them into your CD-Rom drive, to get around this simply open up the CD in the MAC OS, so that you can see all the files and folders on the CD. You should see a folder called media double click this folder, you should then see a folder which has a name consisting of a long string of numbers and letters, double click this folder you should see 3 folders one titled video, double click this folder and you should see all the videos that are on that CD, simply double click on each video and it should start to play.
- Mac users make sure you have downloaded and installed the Perian codec pack. The Perian codec pack may be downloaded and installed here: http://www.perian.org/ . Installation instructions for the Perian codec pack can be found here: http://www.perian.org/#watch
